Hyundai has a very strong hold in the C-segment sedan. It does so with its Verna. As the competition is getting tougher than ever with other manufacturers updating their cars, Hyundai has brought the facelifted Verna in its BSVI guise.

EXTERIOR


Chrome grille looks premium

     The front of the car is the place where maximum changes are found. The headlights get LED treatment with LED DRLs which look rather cool. Its bumper gets a chrome treatment with its signature design. Fog lamps are placed in triangular housings with a chrome lip at the bottom.

Black treatment looks aggresive

     The turbo variant, however, gets a black grille very similar to one found on the new Elantra internationally. The bumper gets black treatment to enhance its sporty turbo variant.

Alloy wheels get a refreshed design

     The side however remains largely the same from the pre-facelifted version. The most prominent change is the new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. It gets strong body lines extending to both the ends. It also gets a chrome beltline. It gets electric ORVMs (Outside rearview mirrors).

Rear is very similar to the outgoing one

     The rear looks very much like the old one bare minimum changes. The taillights get a new design with LED treatment. The bumper is new with chrome lines all over. The turbo variant gets a rear diffuser with twin tip chrome exhausts along with black treatment everywhere which brings in a more sporty feel for the turbo variant.

INTERIOR


Dashboard looks modern

      On the inside, it gets a slightly refreshed dashboard. It gets a black and beige treatment with chrome touches on the AC vents. The main change is the addition of a fully digital instrument cluster which is the main USP of the car in its segment. It also gets an electric sunroof and wireless charging.

Sunroof makes the intertior brighter

     It gets rear headrests for two passengers only. It gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest Bluelink connected car tech. It is one of the best systems you find in the current industry. It gets Android Auto as well as Apple Carplay. It gets rear AC vents with a USB charging socket.

Black theme with red inserts look sporty

     The turbo variant gets a sporty all-black treatment on the dashboard with red accents all over the seats, steering wheel and AC vents.

FEATURES


Paddle shifters only for DCT transmission

     The feature list is pretty long which makes it a go-to car for most buyers in India. For starters it gets keyless entry, BlueLink connected car tech with eSIM, fully digital instrument cluster, cruise control, Arkamys Premium 6 speaker sound system, smart trunk and paddle shifters.

Ventilated seats is boon in this hot weather

     It also gets ventilated front seats, auto-dimming rearview mirror, cooled glove box, electric sunroof, trunk lamp and wireless phone charger, rear manual curtains and USB charging sockets for both front and rear passengers. It also automatic headlights.

Rear view camera is clear and nice to use

     On the safety-wise it gets 6 airbags, EBD, ABS, rearview parking camera with adaptive guidelines, ISOFIX child seat mounts, tyre pressure monitoring system, vehicle stability management, impact sensing door lock, headlamp cornering function, hill start assist and parking sensors on both front and rear. It also gets disc brakes on all four wheels.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION



     It gets 3 engine and 3 transmission options which includes 2 petrol engines and a diesel engine. The diesel engine is a BSVI compliant, 1.5 L turbo diesel engine producing 115 PS of power at 4000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 1,500 - 2,750 rpm. It's mated to a manual or a torque converter. The petrol is a BSVI compliant, 1.5 L naturally aspirated engine which produces 115 PS of power at 6,300 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm and it's mated to a manual or a CVT gearbox which is called IVT by Hyundai. The other petrol engine is the most important of the three and it's going to be the best seller according to Hyundai. It's the BSVI compliant, 1.0 L turbocharged engine producing 120 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 170 Nm of torque at 1,500 - 4,000 rpm. It's mated to 7-speed DCT transmission.

PRICE

     The pricing is attractive although it is higher than the outgoing car. The pricing starts from 11.05 lakh rupees on-road, Bengaluru. It tops out at 18.47 lakh rupees on-road, Bengaluru.
