Toyota has been in India for a long time. And from all this, they have mastered one important thing, reliability. With this, they created their very strong brand image. That's one of the main reasons for the large sales in India. Toyota Fortuner has been the king of the SUV segment from a long time and now, it's getting a minor update. The updated car is likely to come to India in 2021 only but we will tell you all about the updated 2020 Toyota Fortuner.

EXTERIOR
Tailights get a new design |
The SUV silhouette remains mainly unchanged except for a few bits. The LED headlamps get a new design and new DRLs. The grille gets a different pattern. The bumper is new with new housings for the fog lamps. The side doesn't get much changes except for the wheels which get a new design. The rear gets very subtle changes with the redesigned LED taillights being the prominent one.
INTERIOR

The interior remains the same with some new equipment. At first the infotainment system supports both Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It is an 8-inch touchscreen display. Other stuff includes wireless charging, 360° parking camera and ambient lighting. It also gets Variable Flow Control which basically adjusts the weight of the steering wheel depending upon the speed the vehicle for better feel.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
2.8 litre diesel engine |
The new 2.8-litre engine produces 204 hp and 500 Nm of power and torque respectively which is a significant upgrade over the present one, which produces 177 hp and 420 Nm of torque. But it yet to see that change come to India as the present gen Fortuner's 2.8 litre is already BS6 compliant. The gearbox options would remain the same - automatic and manual.
