Hyundai Creta had been the best selling car in its segment for a long time until Kia Seltos dethroned it. But now Hyundai is ready to take back its position with the all-new 2020 Hyundai Creta. The 2020 Hyundai Creta comes in an all-new skin. The design this time though.. it's very subjective.

EXTERIOR

The car has a large stance
    
It now gets an all-LED headlight setup which looks like Hyundai's flagship SUV, the Palisade. It gets a halogen fog light with indicators placed next to it in the lower part of the bumper. It gets a massive grill in the front which is finished in chrome.

     The side profile of the car looks good too, very similar to its pre-facelift. It gets a silver finish surrounding the windows. However, the car sits lower than before and the car has grown in all dimensions. It gets tubeless tyres with tyre size 205/65 R16 steel wheels or 205/65 R16 styled wheels or 215/60 R17 alloys depending upon the variant.

     Coming to the rear, it gets a LED tail light section which looks quite alike to its headlights. It also gets brake light placed in the middle of the tailgate along with Hyundai badging and Creta written in chrome. It comes in 10 different colour options which include two dual-tine schemes.

INTERIOR AND FEATURES

   It gets a 10-inch infotainment system along with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster which includes everything except for the tachometer, fuel gauge and engine temperature gauge. The steering wheel is also new. The A/C vents get chrome surrounds.

Dashboard looks modern

     It gets ventilated seats with cooling function. It also gets a wireless charging pad along with a 12V charging socket and two USB sockets in the front. The main infotainment panel gets a lot of goodies which includes Advanced Blue-Link having 50 connected car features and voice recognition. It also comes equipped with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Steering wheel has paddle shifters

     It gets a blue ambient light and Auto Healthy Air Purifier. It also has different traction control modes, cruise control, electronic parking brakes and paddle shifters. It gets automatic headlights and puddle lamps with welcome function.

Panoramic sunroof is the main USP

     The new highlight of the Creta is its massive panoramic sunroof which makes the cabin look airier and brighter. It gets inside auto-dimming rearview mirror. It gets an 8 speaker premium Bose sound system. It gets leather seats which are comfy and nice. It gets ventilated seats on the front which is a boon in Indian climate. It gets a powered driver seat. The rear windows are bigger than before. Three people can sit comfortably in the rear as the floor is almost flat.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

     Coming to the powertrain it gets three engine options and three gearbox options excluding the manual one. There are two petrol engines and one diesel. There is a 1.4 L turbo petrol engine which produces 140 PS of power and 242 Nm of torque and it comes paired with a 7-speed DCT dual-clutch transmission only unlike the Seltos which gets also manual transmission along with DCT.
Hyundai offers a range of engine options

The other one is a naturally aspirated 1.5 L petrol engine which produces 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque and this comes paired with a manual gearbox or a CVT gearbox which is called IVT by Hyundai. The diesel one is 1.6 L CRDi engine which produces 115 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. This comes along with a manual gearbox or a torque converter unit. Thus Hyundai has a range of powertrain options to the customers to make their choice more clearly. It gets a 50-litre fuel tank and the mileage ranges from 16.8 kmpl to 21.4 kmpl depending upon the powertrain combination you choose.

SAFETY

     On the safety-wise it gets ABS with EBD, Rear Parking Sensors,  Rear View Camera with Dynamic Guidelines, Impact Sensing Door Lock, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management, Hill Assist Control, 4 wheel disc brakes, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Seatbelt Pretensioner with Load Limit, 2-6 Airbags depending upon the variant and ISOFIX seat mounts.

PRICE

     The 2020 Hyundai Creta comes in 14 variants with prices ranging from Rs.9.99 Lakh to Rs.17.2 lakh ex-showroom, India. At this price, it is Rs. 10k more expensive than Kia Seltos but still it is a very appealing package for the Indian customers.
